About Howard Daley

With over 20 years of experience in education and coaching, Howard is a dedicated educator, sports coach, and advocate for student wellness and inclusivity.

Currently based in Brampton, Ontario, Howard brings a wealth of knowledge and a passion for fostering growth and success in students, both inside and outside the classroom.

Howard’s teaching career spans a wide range of roles, from homeroom teacher to subject-specific instructor, where he has worked with students from kindergarten through to middle school. He has taught a variety of subjects, including Language Arts, Social Studies, Visual Arts, and Physical Education, creating engaging and effective learning environments that cater to diverse student needs.

Howard currently teaches at Morningstar Middle School.

As a Grade 6 teacher at McCrimmon Middle School, Howard helped implement culturally relevant pedagogy and guided reading programs, fostering both academic and personal growth in his students.

In addition to his teaching experience, Howard is a committed sports coach, having led and coached numerous teams in sports such as soccer, volleyball, cricket, and netball. He has a special focus on student-athletes, motivating them to develop leadership skills, teamwork, and resilience.

As a coach, he is known for his positive, empowering approach and has earned multiple awards for his outstanding coaching abilities.

Howard's academic qualifications include a Master’s in Education Leadership from Temple University, where he graduated as the valedictorian. He also holds Bachelor's degrees in Primary Education and Physical Education and has earned additional certifications in Special Education, Health and Physical Education, and Information Technology.

His dedication to continuous learning is reflected in his ongoing professional development in various areas, including First Nations and Métis Studies, Literacy, and Special Education.

Outside the classroom, Howard has been a strong advocate for equity, diversity, and inclusion. He has led initiatives like the Black Student Alliance and worked to implement the Black Student Success Strategy in schools.

His belief in the power of education to change lives extends to his work with the broader community, where he has organized wellness programs, built sports facilities, and initiated fundraisers for less fortunate children.
